The Oscar’s for this movie season will be awarded on February 26, 2017.

Each year I make a commitment to watch every single movie nominated for Best Picture. This year nine movies are in the running to take home the gold statuette.

One of my favorite actors of all time is two time Oscar winner Denzel Washington.

Denzel gives a stellar performance as Troy Maxson in the movie “Fences” based on the brilliant writing of American playwright August Wilson. I encourage you to watch it.

When I become enthralled with an actor’s performance, I become a voracious reader and viewer of articles and videos about them.

I came upon a speech given by Denzel Washington as he was given the 2017 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for “Fences.”

Denzel delivered a laser like speech with several indelible messages:

“Without commitment you’ll never start. Without consistency you’ll never finish.”

He went on to remind us that being the best in your trade or business doesn’t come easy.

Denzel says If it were easy, many of the talented actors and actresses up for awards would have never discovered the accolades of success, including one Denzel Washington.

“Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship,” the Oscar-winning actor said.

The masses want overnight success. They want an l “I Dream of Jeannie” blueprint to take them across their endgame finish line.

These folks never make it.

In the end, you’ve got to get in there, get dirty, get your elbows bloodied, take risk, and simply, do the work.
