Meditation relaxes the mind. Until a few years ago I wasn’t a fan. Jerry Seinfeld practices Transcendental Meditation twice a day. He says it’s like your phone charger. TM gives him energy. 

Complacency is death.

Where is your focus? For most it’s on what they don’t want. Where your focus lands, is where your focus expands.

As I pulled into the environs of Asheville, I saw a homeless person standing on a corner, holding his proverbial cardboard sign. It read, I’m dreaming of a cheeseburger. I’ve never seen a more innovative message from a floater. This man has dormant potential. Anyone that creative has the ability to turn things around. I hope he does.

Usually, I don’t have the I Dream of Jeannie solution. Meaning, in one or two calls you’re totally transformed. Not usually the case. Change takes time.

You can’t help everyone, but you can help someone.

You can never be ready. There’s way too much information to know.

Spinning wheels or traction? My clients live in the latter.

Keep on keepin on. You’re almost there.

What do you want more than anything else? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get it? 

71% of the workforce are disengaged with their jobs. I partner with these people to find a job, career, or transition to a new business that pays the light bill and lights them up.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. What signs are you ignoring that can potentially cook your business like a charred hot dog? p.s. I put mustard on my hot dog. Ketchup? Sacrilegious. ;-p 

Desperation can cloud your thinking process. A coach can see what you can’t or aren’t willing to see.

Everyone has dormant potential. They just don’t see it. This is where I come in. 

A river never pushes. It flows in a natural direction. Effortlessly. Where are you pushing? What needs to happen for you to flow?

In Paul Johnson’s biography of Winston Churchill, he describes an early encounter with the Prime Minster at the age of 17 in 1946. Paul asked him what he attributed to his success. “Conservation of energy. Never stand up when you can sit down. Never sit down when you can lie down.” The Prime Minister then hopped into his limo. 

Be intentional about who you want to become.

A trained coach helps the client uncover and own the new direction. The new place is in the clients bones. They just can’t see it. A coach really helps.

Sometimes you’ve got to just get out of your own way.

You lost the deal, client, job, etc. Feeling bummed about it? Don’t waddle in the muddle too long. Otherwise, you risk not seeing the next opportunity. 

Shine the spotlight on your team while applauding in the wings. Humility is the sign of a great leader.
